Haize Colvin of T.C. Lewis & Co. Properties has been certified as an EcoBroker through EcoBroker International. She is the first Real Estate Professional in Northeast Tennessee to acquire the designation. As an EcoBroker, Haize will be able to offer innovative energy, environmental, and green strategies and tools for her clients.

Cory Lewis, President of T.C. Lewis & Co. Properties, has recently been named the Chairman of the Green Building Council under the Home Builders Association of Washington, Carter, Unicoi and Johnson Counties. He has also been appointed to hold a position on the Board of Directors for the JCAHBA.

The T.C. Lewis & Co. Properties’ Johnson City office has been certified as a Wildlife Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation. The office is giving their commitment to wildlife conservation and the environment, and will help in spreading the word to the community.

T.C. Lewis & Co. Properties has been certified through the NAHB as a ‘Certified Green Builder’. The training was held in Maryland to educate and certify builders on how to build green homes to help benefit the environment.

T.C. Lewis & Co. Properties has made a proposal to start a local Green Building Committee through the JCAHBA (Johnson City Area Home Builder Association), and extension of the NAHB. This committee will ensure that local developers will have the opportunity to become more knowledgeable about the extensive process of responsible green building and developing.

Now that the infrastructure and development stages are complete, T.C. Lewis & Co. Properties met to discuss the green home building processes. The community is certified through: NAHB Green Building Program, LEED (Leadership in Engineering and Design) of the U.S. Green Building Council, Health House by the American Lung Association and as certified wildlife habitats through the National Wildlife Federation

To assist in the prevention of soil run-off, the community has been hydro seeded to ensure that what little of the land was disturbed, has been transformed close to it’s original state.

Underground utilities have been installed for residents to take advantage of electricity, water, sewer, cable and telephone.

Grading and clearing has been completed to NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) Green Building Program & U.S. Green Building Council specifications. Action has been taken to make sure that very little of the existing land has been disturbed in any earth moving stages

A plan to prevent storm water run-off was engineered. As a result, the remaining underbrush that once covered the entire property has been cleared. The structure of the new county road to access the development has begun.

T.C. Lewis & Co Properties met to discuss planning for the development and infrastructure.

T.C. Lewis & Co. Properties had the first meeting about the possibility and viability of building a green community.

Clean-up begins, removing nearly 87 tons of trash from site. What was once an eye sore to the community, has now begun it’s transformation into a beautiful clean environment.

Property purchased at 360 Buttermilk Rd to be the future site of Carolina Cove. An abandoned mobile home was left on site, leaving neighbors upset with the state of the property.
